Tying is appropriate for grape varieties whose branches tend to droop, such as Pinot Noir. It is therefore not particularly widespread in France or in the world, however, it is often applied to valuable plots.
For example, a considerable amount of time would be required to tie a vineyard with 10,000 vines per hectare. Tying is carried out at the same time as many other tasks (treatments, trimming, leaf thinning, tillage).
