2.5.4.a What is the TFI?

The phytosanitary treatment frequency indicator (TFI) is an indicator of the intensity of phytosanitary products for a plot, vineyard or region. This indicator counts the number of doses used/sprayed per hectare during a season. It makes it possible to evaluate the quantity of phytosanitary products applied in relation to the approved dose and per hectare. The TFI of a vineyard can, for example, be compared to the regional TFI in order to situate the winegrower's practices in relation to the most common practices on a wider scale.
